Signature work

Every slab shows up with its own ideas.

Cracks, voids, bark pockets, wormholes. A lot of shops cut them out. Steve reads them first, then decides where the resin goes, which way the waterfall should fall, and what the table wants to be.

That’s why no two pieces here look alike, and why yours won’t look like anyone else’s.

The maker

Philly boy turned Florida man.

Steve Sushko spent nearly twenty years on custom home builds and historic renovations in and around Philadelphia, the kind of work where new trim has to disappear into hundred-year-old trim. In 2018 he moved to Southwest Florida and started spending more and more of his time on the fun stuff: one-off tables, carved details, pieces designed around one family’s house and taste.

That’s still the whole philosophy. The extra hour on an edge profile. The miter that has to vanish. The detail you only notice in year five.

“The more unnecessary the work, the better.”

Also, he carves

Blue ribbons, for the record.

Steve’s carvings have come home from shows with ribbons. That same hand shows up in his furniture as details nobody else would bother with. He’ll carve your dog, too.

    Built by hand

Flattened, joined, poured, sanded and finished in Steve’s shop, with progress photos along the way.

  4. 04

    Delivered & set

Steve brings it to your door anywhere from Sarasota to Naples, sets it, levels it and makes sure it’s right.

Good questions

What people ask before they commission a table.

Anything else, just call. Steve picks up: (610) 721-1918

01How much does a live edge table cost?

It depends on the species, size, style and base. A simple cypress dining table starts around $2,300, and a big walnut river table can run $8,000 to $10,000 or more. Coffee tables and consoles usually land between $1,200 and $3,000. The table builder gives you a real estimate in about a minute.

02How long does a custom table take?

Most tables take about 6 to 10 weeks from deposit to delivery. Resin rivers need extra curing time, so they sit at the longer end. Boards, shelves and mantels are usually 2 to 4 weeks.

03What does the deposit cover?

It reserves your place in the build schedule and lets Steve buy your slab. Every dollar is credited toward your final price.

04Will the resin yellow in Florida sun?

Furniture-grade resins are UV-stabilized, but any epoxy can shift a little after years of direct sun. If your table will sit by a big west-facing window, mention it and Steve will steer you toward the right resin color and finish.

05How do I take care of it?

Wipe it with a damp cloth, use trivets under hot pans, and give oil finishes a fresh coat once or twice a year. Steve tells you exactly what your finish needs when he delivers it.

06Where do you deliver?

Steve delivers and installs from Sarasota and Lakewood Ranch down through Venice, Port Charlotte, Fort Myers and Naples. Smaller pieces like boards, shelves and mantels ship anywhere in the continental US.
